I currently practice as a full-time substantive consultant Clinical Oncologist at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre specialising in gastrointestinal malignancies. I have completed six years of specialist training and one year of clinical research. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists, Member of the Royal College of Physicians and completed my general medical training in London. My professional experience in all major and most specialist tumour sites gives me the confidence and knowledge to manage complex patients including those having radiotherapy, chemotherapy and all oncological emergencies. I am very experienced in 2D and 3D radiotherapy planning as well as using more advanced radiotherapy techniques, such Stereotactic Radiotherapy. My aim is to take these skills forward, build upon them and establish myself as a future leader in this field. I have published in several peer-reviewed journals and completed a one-year clinical research fellowship in radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital during which I was invited to speak at national and international meetings about various project. I was involved with. I also have an academic background; having been awarded scholarships at school and university and completed both BSc and MSc degrees. I was awarded a Merit by the Institute of Cancer Research for the latter which contributed to the evidence-base behind a change in national guidelines and radiotherapy practice towards the implementation of Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy to treat anal cancers in the UK. These academic achievements demonstrate that I have the enthusiasm and passion for clinical research alongside continually enhancing my clinical skills. Outside of work, I enjoy travel, sport and spending time with friends and family. This balance helps me to maintain the energy and drive to contribute in all aspects of life to the best of my ability.
